I love them all they are great
I love it
I’m fascinated with these ideas. I would love to try if I have time :).
“Bruh, these are all useless hacks”
There is some golden ideas here for a modern artsy decor for home. The lightbulbs for coat racks is solid. And the door stopper is on point. Just to a name a few. Oh and the candle holder 👌👌👌
I liked the Santa Claus. Could make very small for gifts.
I liked the 3 legged stool idea. I would go 4 legs and make plant stands for outdoor as they are often fairly expensive and cement lasts longer than wood. I would probably make them rectangular rather than round. I would use metal poles for the legs.
Also the casting resin jewelry idea for a necklace pendant was nice.
I liked the little table made from books. Great idea for home office or library.
I like your suggestions for the 3 legged stool. Wouldn’t 5 legs be more sturdy than 4? How about polygon rather than square? Metal corrodes so how about schedule 40 for the legs?
Cement sets by absorbing water not by drying out. Take care not to let your cement dry too quickly or it will be weak and crumbly, particularly on the surface. If you are making a relatively thin cast like some shown in this video, keep it damp for at least 24 hours so that it sets properly.
@Atmosphyre LLC — It would also be stronger with the addition of some fine sand to act as an aggregate. The way cement works is that it forms crystalline rods that attach to the aggregate, and the aggregate acts as a stabilizer, because it provides something that doesn’t expand or contract or absorb water or shrink as much when it cures. Also, the more water that is added in the mixing, the more shrinkage will occur.
Very helpful now I understand my first mistake
@grizzlygrizzle Absolutely, I was just trying to keep it simple to just keep it at least from cracking. The old expression is aggregate never shrinks is true, only the cement does. So the more agg the less you will have shrinkage. I would suggest a 1 portland to 3 sand ratio for these kinds of projects. It also would be great if there was a plasticizer or water reducer added so you have better flow and less water.
@Peter Moss — Have you seen any of the videos by that guy Tyler who’s obsessed with concrete? I can’t remember the name of his channel, but he’s put out a lot of informative videos.
How does rapid set cement work, in that case?
Because I have some and it is crumbly, but it doesnt have ratio instructions and I am learning concrete expires so not sure what it is down to.
There’s some great ideas for cheap pots, although I think you’d add sand to the mix. On a few FB groups people have made big cement pots with towels and sheets, the look great and very cheap to make.
Najfajniejsza przeźroczysta bransoletka z kwiatkami:)))
